Ethics in Practice: Commitment Beyond Certification
At Old Oak Legal, we believe that true ethics are evidenced by action, not mere certification. Like developers who build accessible software or lawyers who undertake pro bono work, we view ethical responsibility as an application of expertise toward societal benefit—without the need to compromise on commercial sustainability.
We are a for-profit company with a strong ethical foundation. Our technology, The Legal Project, currently in its MVP stage, builds on the core functionalities of Old Oak Legal and will be licensed under a proprietary framework. This model enables us to offer accessible legal services to clients with modest incomes, regardless of their financial background.
Empowering Legal Professionals and Clients
The Legal Project is designed to help lawyers and law firms substantially reduce both operational and technical expenses. During recent live beta tests, our platform successfully facilitated amicable dispute resolutions, including complex cases such as family and divorce agreements. For instance, in a recent family dispute, our system presented multiple resolution options based on third-party document analysis and client testimony. This enabled the client to select their preferred course of action, ultimately achieving an outcome previously ignored by the opposing law firm. This represents not only a win for our client but also a demonstration of the system’s efficacy in real-world scenarios.
Supporting NGOs Through Localized Technology
In alignment with our commitment to social responsibility, we are developing a free, proprietary local license system tailored for NGOs. This system will leverage localized language models to function efficiently on small-form servers, enabling lawyers in regions with intermittent internet access to perform critical legal work without interruption.
